Kicking off the event, Eminem brought the house down with a medley from his new album The Death of Slim Shady, including throwbacks to his early 2000s Slim Shady persona.

Taylor Swift tied Beyoncé for the most VMA wins ever, each securing 30 Moon People throughout their careers. Meanwhile, rising star Chappell Roan took home Best New Artist, solidifying her presence in the music industry after a strong festival season.
