Verizon is making some big changes. The company announced it is selling 274 of its company-owned stores and cutting around 3,000 jobs as it tries to save money and improve its business.

Most of the job cuts will affect retail workers, while about 500 corporate employees will also lose their jobs. Even though Verizon is selling the stores, they won't be closing. Instead, the locations will be taken over by franchise owners, and many workers could keep their jobs if they decide to work for the new owners.
The changes are part of Verizon's plan to lower costs and compete better with wireless rivals like AT&T and T-Mobile. The company has already cut thousands of jobs over the past year as it looks for ways to become more efficient.
Verizon says it will still own about 1,000 stores after the sale and plans to keep improving its wireless service, customer rewards program, and overall shopping experience.
While the layoffs are tough for many employees, Verizon hopes these changes will help the company grow and stay competitive in the long run.
