Hip-hop legend and three-time Grammy winner Sean "Diddy" Combs was taken into custody by federal authorities in New York City on Monday, sources confirmed. Agents from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) arrested the music mogul in the lobby of a Manhattan hotel, according to individuals familiar with the situation.

Recent accusations of sexual misconduct and physical violence have surrounded Combs, raising significant legal concerns. In March, HSI agents, along with other law enforcement, raided Combs' homes in Los Angeles and Miami as part of an ongoing sex trafficking investigation. While no charges were filed at that time, Monday’s arrest marks a significant development in the case.
According to U.S. Attorney Damian Williams of the Southern District of New York (SDNY), Combs’ arrest stems from a sealed indictment, with details expected to be made public soon. Williams described Combs as "a self-made entrepreneur and philanthropist" but urged the public not to rush to judgment.
Combs' attorney, Marc Agnifilo, has strongly defended his client, stating that Combs has fully cooperated with authorities throughout the investigation. "These charges are unjust," Agnifilo asserted. "Sean Combs is innocent and looks forward to clearing his name in court."
In recent months, Combs has faced multiple lawsuits alleging sexual abuse, violence, and misconduct. While his legal team denies the accusations, the media has closely followed the developments. In May, CNN released footage showing Combs allegedly assaulting singer Cassie (Casandra Ventura) in a Los Angeles hotel in 2016. Combs later apologized for his actions, calling them "inexcusable" and taking "full responsibility."
In November 2023, Cassie filed a lawsuit against Combs, accusing him of rape and abuse during their relationship. The lawsuit was settled just a day after it was filed, with Combs denying the allegations.
As the case unfolds, Homeland Security Investigations has declined to provide further comments. More details regarding the sealed indictment are expected to be released soon.
