The beloved '90s animated series Rugrats is making a comeback, with Paramount Pictures developing a live-action/CGI hybrid film. This new feature will bring Tommy Pickles, Chuckie Finster, and the iconic Rugrats crew to life, blending animation with real-world settings, similar to the style of recent adaptations like Sonic the Hedgehog.

In the upcoming film, Tommy, Chuckie, and twins Phil and Lil DeVille will be animated, interacting in a real-world environment. While details are still under wraps, it is unclear which other beloved characters from the original series will make an appearance. Fans are eager to see if iconic characters like Angelica Pickles, her doll Cynthia, Tommy’s baby brother Dil, and family members like Didi, Stu, and Spike will be part of the film’s storyline.

The film will be directed by Jason Moore, known for his work on Pitch Perfect and the Tina Fey-Amy Poehler comedy Sisters. The script has been written by Saturday Night Live comedian Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidell. Karen Rosenfelt will serve as producer alongside Rugrats co-creators Arlene Klasky and Gábor Csupó.
