The Avengers are assembling once again, and this time they may be facing their biggest threat yet.

New footage from Marvel Studios’ upcoming “Avengers: Doomsday” gives fans a closer look at the massive superhero crossover, bringing together the Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four and New Avengers as they prepare to face Doctor Doom.
The trailer puts Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom at the center of the action. Downey, best known in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for playing Tony Stark and Iron Man, returns to the franchise in a completely different role as the powerful villain Victor von Doom. The footage shows Doom wearing his iconic green hood and metal mask as a threat to the multiverse begins to emerge.
One of the trailer's biggest moments features Thor going head-to-head with Doom. Thor throws Mjolnir at the villain, but Doom shockingly catches the powerful hammer with his bare hand, immediately showing just how dangerous he could be.
The footage makes it clear that “Doomsday” is aiming to be one of Marvel's largest crossover events yet. With the Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four and other heroes sharing the screen, the movie appears ready to bring several corners of the Marvel universe together.
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, “Avengers: Doomsday” is scheduled to hit theaters on Dec. 18, 2026, with “Avengers: Secret Wars” set to continue the story in 2027.
