DC Studios Gives Krypto the Spotlight With New Animated Series

DC Studios announced the project during the Annecy International Animation Festival, continuing to expand its animated slate under co-heads James Gunn and Peter Safran. The untitled series will center on Superman's loyal canine companion following the character's breakout popularity in the new DC Universe.

The series will be executive produced by Chowder creator C.H. Greenblatt and follows Krypto as he teams up with a group of aspiring criminals.

A release date for the Krypto series has not yet been announced, but the project further cements the superdog as one of the breakout stars of DC's new era. From scene-stealing appearances on the big screen to now headlining his own animated adventure, Krypto's role in the DC Universe continues to grow.
