After more than a decade of waiting, fans of the Jump Street franchise may finally be getting another sequel. Reports indicate that 24 Jump Street is officially in development, with Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum, and Ice Cube all in talks to reprise their roles from the first two films.

The new installment would mark the first entry in the franchise since 2014's 22 Jump Street, which was both a critical and commercial success. While many fans expected the next movie to be titled 23 Jump Street, the series appears to be embracing its trademark self-aware humor by skipping directly to 24 Jump Street. The reported tagline even jokes, "It took so long to make we had to skip one."
The film will reportedly be directed by Rodney Rothman, who co-wrote 22 Jump Street and was one of the creative forces behind Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
With the original cast potentially reuniting and a creative team familiar with the franchise's unique blend of action and comedy, excitement is once again building around the series. No official release date has been announced, and production details have remained relatively limited making for a surprise for fans as to what the new film will be about.
