Buffalo Bills defensive end Von Miller has been suspended for four games without pay after violating the NFL's personal conduct policy, the league announced on Tuesday. He will be eligible to return after the Bills’ Week 8 game against the Seattle Seahawks. During his suspension, Miller will miss games against the Houston Texans, New York Jets, and Tennessee Titans.

The suspension is reportedly linked to allegations that Miller assaulted his pregnant girlfriend in November 2023 during the Bills' bye week. Miller turned himself in to Texas authorities at the end of November after an arrest warrant was issued on charges of third-degree felony assault of a pregnant woman. He was booked and released on a $5,000 bond shortly afterward.
Miller has consistently denied the allegations, stating that they are "100 percent false." No charges were filed, and Miller confirmed in July 2024 that the case had been closed. However, the NFL conducted its own investigation, which led to the suspension.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell mentioned that there were discussions about placing Miller on the commissioner’s exempt list earlier this year, but that decision was not deemed necessary at the time. The exempt list allows players to be removed from the active roster while investigations are ongoing.
Miller, who signed a six-year contract with the Bills in 2022, restructured his deal this offseason, creating $8.645 million in cap space for the team. At 35 years old, Miller has recorded three sacks in the current season, playing a rotational role on the Bills' defensive line.
