Kevin Liles, the long-standing CEO and chairman of 300 Entertainment, has officially announced that he will be stepping down from his role at the end of September. In a memo shared internally and obtained by Billboard, Liles confirmed his exit but stated that he would continue to serve as a consultant for Warner Music Group (WMG) and 300 Elektra Entertainment until the end of 2024.

Liles has been a prominent figure in the music industry, co-founding 300 Entertainment in 2014 alongside Lyor Cohen, Todd Moscowitz, and Roger Gold. The label quickly rose to fame by signing and developing hip-hop superstars such as Megan Thee Stallion, Gunna, Migos, Fetty Wap, and Young Thug. 300 Entertainment became a powerhouse in the music industry, gaining further prominence when it was acquired by Warner Music Group in 2021. In 2022, the label was integrated into Atlantic Music Group, forming 300 Elektra Entertainment.

In his internal note, Liles expressed gratitude for his time at 300 and the team he helped build, but emphasized his desire to continue supporting the label's success from a consulting role. WMG CEO Robert Kyncl praised Liles for his impact on the industry, calling him an “extraordinary brand-builder and advocate for artists.” Kyncl also announced that the CEO position at 300 would not be filled, and the label would instead be run by its co-presidents, Rayna Bass and Selim Bouab, along with Elektra president Gregg Nadel.

The leadership changes come at a time of significant restructuring at Warner Music Group. In addition to Liles’ departure, other high-profile exits include Max Lousada, CEO of recorded music for Warner, and Julie Greenwald, Chairman of Atlantic Recording Group. As Warner undergoes this reshuffling, 300 Entertainment remains in capable hands, with Bass and Bouab reporting directly to Kyncl.

Liles' departure marks the end of an era for 300 Entertainment, but his influence on the label—and the artists it developed—will undoubtedly continue to shape its future.
