Kel Mitchell, known for his roles in Nickelodeon’s "All That" and "Kenan & Kel," recently shared a troubling story about his time on set with producer Dan Schneider. Speaking on the "Baby, This is Keke Palmer" podcast, Mitchell detailed an incident where Schneider allegedly berated him in a closet during a heated disagreement. This revelation adds to the growing list of allegations against Schneider from former Nickelodeon stars.

Reflecting on his teenage years, Mitchell recalled a tense encounter with Schneider that took place when he was 18 or 19. "I remember having a major argument with Dan on set," Mitchell explained. "He pulled me into a closet and started yelling all this wild stuff." At that moment, Mitchell was faced with a decision: confront Schneider physically or walk away. Choosing the latter, he left the situation to avoid further conflict.

Mitchell noted that the atmosphere on "All That" began to shift after co-creator Brian Robbins departed to focus on films like "Varsity Blues." Schneider, then the head writer, took over more responsibilities. "The vibe of the show started to change under Dan's direction," Mitchell said. "We kind of bumped heads over how my character was being portrayed."

Mitchell’s account is part of a broader narrative brought to light by the Investigation Discovery documentary series "Quiet on Set," where several former Nickelodeon actors accused Schneider of inappropriate behavior. While Schneider has denied the allegations, he has acknowledged that some of his past material was inappropriate.

Kenan Thompson, Mitchell's long-time co-star, expressed his concern for those affected by Schneider’s alleged actions. "It’s tough to hear about these experiences," Thompson said. "My heart goes out to anyone who was victimized."In response to the documentary and the accusations it highlights, Schneider is pursuing legal action for defamation, arguing that he has been unfairly portrayed as a predator. Despite admitting some past misjudgments, he maintains that the portrayal of him in the media is exaggerated and misleading.

Kel Mitchell and Kenan Thompson were pivotal in shaping Nickelodeon’s golden era. Their shows, "All That" and "Kenan & Kel," left an indelible mark on the network. However, the recent allegations cast a shadow over that legacy, prompting a reevaluation of Schneider’s influence and the environment he fostered.

As more voices from the past come forward, the impact of Schneider's actions on Nickelodeon's child stars becomes clearer. These revelations underscore the importance of accountability and safe working conditions for young actors in the entertainment industry.
