HBO's highly-anticipated third season of "Euphoria" is set to bring back its "same core cast," albeit with a significant twist: the storyline will no longer be set in high school, according to HBO and Max CEO Casey Bloys. Sam Levinson, the creator and writer, is currently immersed in crafting the new season.

Initially known for its gritty portrayal of teenage life at East Highland High School, "Euphoria" has captivated audiences with its exploration of complex themes like addiction, domestic violence, and identity crises. The upcoming season will continue to delve into these issues but will pick up after a time jump, exploring the characters' lives beyond their high school years.
Casey Bloys shared insights on the development process, acknowledging the challenges of transitioning the storyline. "Moving 'Euphoria' out of the high school setting sparks debates about where and when to set it," Bloys explained. "However, Sam has a compelling vision that he’s enthusiastic about, and he’s currently engrossed in writing."
While specific details about returning cast members were not disclosed, it's confirmed that Barbie Ferreira will not reprise her role as Kat Hernandez, and Angus Cloud, who portrayed Fezco, tragically passed away in July 2023.
Following a gripping conclusion to its second season, "Euphoria" faced delays due to industry strikes, with writing resuming after the strikes ended in September 2023. Despite rumors of cancellation, HBO reaffirmed their commitment to the series in March, assuring fans of a third season in the works.
As anticipation builds, the future involvement of cast members remains uncertain, with Zendaya and others expressing openness to returning while navigating scheduling complexities.
Stay tuned for more updates on "Euphoria" season 3 as production progresses.
