In a recent court filing, DDG (Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr.) has requested that the court prevent his ex-partner, actress Halle Bailey, from taking their 17-month-old son, Halo, on an international trip, particularly to Italy. This legal action, filed on June 4, 2025, reflects ongoing concerns about Halo’s safety and Bailey’s mental well-being

DDG's motion requests an emergency hearing and asks for the restriction of Bailey's ability to travel with their son. In the legal documents, DDG expresses concerns about the emotional and psychological harm to Halo due to Bailey’s alleged history of self-harm threats. According to DDG, if Halo were taken out of the country, he would be without the protection of the Court or any mechanisms for emergency intervention.
In his filing, DDG claims Bailey has made repeated threats of suicide and self-harm, which he argues could have an impact on their son’s well-being. Furthermore, DDG alleges there was an incident in which Bailey took his gun during an argument, left their home, and was later found outside, allegedly in an emotionally distressed state, potentially suicidal.
The court, however, denied DDG’s request for an emergency restraining order that would prevent Bailey from traveling with Halo. This motion followed an earlier temporary restraining order granted to Bailey, which had granted her temporary physical and legal custody of Halo. The temporary order also included a provision that DDG must remain 100 yards away from Bailey and Halo at all times.
In response, Bailey has sought full custody of Halo, requesting that DDG only be allowed to visit their son under supervised conditions with a professional agency once a week for six hours. Bailey has also asked the court to prevent DDG from taking Halo outside of Los Angeles County.
Bailey’s request for sole custody of their son was based on allegations that DDG physically and emotionally abused her during their relationship. Despite these claims, DDG has denied all allegations of abuse and maintains that his requests are focused on protecting their son’s well-being.
Bailey and DDG’s relationship came to an end in 2024, after dating for a little over two years. The court proceedings, including custody and visitation matters, continue to unfold, with both sides seeking resolutions that they believe are in the best interests of Halo.
This latest legal clash between the former couple is part of ongoing family court disputes that have dominated media coverage. As the legal proceedings continue, both Bailey and DDG’s legal teams are working to establish long-term custody and visitation arrangements for Halo.
The outcome of these proceedings could have lasting implications for both parties, as they continue to navigate their personal and legal challenges. While the judge denied DDG’s request to prevent Bailey from taking Halo abroad, it remains to be seen how future motions and hearings will unfold.
