The world's biggest sporting event is almost here, and excitement is building as nations prepare for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

For the first time in tournament history, the World Cup will be hosted across three countries—the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The expanded competition will also feature 48 teams, creating more opportunities for nations around the globe to compete on soccer's biggest stage.
Defending champions Argentina enter the tournament as one of the favorites after their memorable triumph in 2022. Meanwhile, the main host nation of this tournament, the United States, will look to build on the momentum from the previous World Cup after their defeat in the Round of 16.
Looking at some of the other favorites, Kylian Mbappé from France is someone to watch out for, alongside an England squad bringing a bunch of rookies to this tournament. Leaving out Premier League stars such as Cole Palmer, Phil Foden, and Trent Alexander-Arnold, it will be interesting to see a squad without them for England.
The last heavy favorite to look out for is Spain. Spain has loads of stars with players such as Lamine Yamal, Pedri, and Rodri. Definitely look out for Spain as their group is very favorable, with the most difficult matchup in the group being Uruguay.
As the kickoff nears, one thing is clear: the world will come together once more for a month of soccer, drama, and memorable moments. The World Cup will commence on June 11, with Mexico facing South Africa in the opening match in Mexico City.
