Wagner, who has been a dependable contributor off the bench, was expected to play a vital role in the Magic’s frontcourt this season. Known for his versatility and energy on the court, Wagner brought valuable scoring and rebounding to a young Orlando roster looking to make strides in the Eastern Conference.

Head coach Jamahl Mosley expressed his disappointment over the injury but emphasized the team's resilience. “Losing Moritz is tough. He’s a hardworking player who brings great energy to our team,” Mosley said. “We’ll continue to support him through his recovery and look for others to step up in his absence.”

The Magic will now turn to their depth to fill the void left by Wagner’s injury. Players like Goga Bitadze and Bol Bol may see increased minutes, while Paolo Banchero and Wendell Carter Jr. could take on more responsibilities in the frontcourt. The injury also raises questions about whether the Magic might explore external options to bolster their roster.

For Wagner, the road to recovery will be long but not unfamiliar territory in the NBA, where many players have successfully returned from ACL injuries. At just 26 years old, Wagner has plenty of time to bounce back and continue contributing at a high level.

This injury comes as the Magic aim to build momentum following a rebuilding phase. With a roster full of promising young talent, the team will need to adapt quickly to maintain its competitive edge in a challenging Eastern Conference.
