LeBron James has once again made NBA history. The National Basketball Association confirmed Sunday that the Los Angeles Lakers star has earned his 22nd NBA All-Star selection, extending his own record for the most All-Star appearances in league history.

The announcement was made ahead of the Lakers’ matchup against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden, with All-Star reserves selected through a vote by NBA head coaches. At 41 years old, James is the league’s oldest active player and has now been named an All-Star in 22 consecutive seasons. James did not participate in last year’s All-Star Game due to injury, but his selection for the 2026 event reinforces his longevity and continued production at the highest level. He remains the only player in NBA history to reach 22 All-Star selections, surpassing legends such as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Kobe Bryant, and Michael Jordan.
James was one of several All-Stars on the court Sunday night, alongside starters Luka Dončić and Jalen Brunson, as well as reserve Karl-Anthony Towns. In the Western Conference, James was joined by Kevin Durant, who earned his 16th All-Star selection, along with Anthony Edwards and Devin Booker. First-time All-Stars from the West include Jamal Murray, Chet Holmgren, and Deni Avdija. The Eastern Conference reserves feature Donovan Mitchell, Pascal Siakam, Scottie Barnes, and Karl-Anthony Towns, along with first-time selections Jalen Duren, Norman Powell, and Jalen Johnson. The 2026 NBA All-Star Game will be held at the Intuit Dome, home of the Los Angeles Clippers. This year’s event will follow the NBA’s updated U.S. vs. World format, splitting the 24 selected players into three eight-man teams competing in a mini-tournament.
Several All-Star starters were announced previously, including Stephen Curry, Nikola Jokić, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Victor Wembanyama, Jaylen Brown, Cade Cunningham, and Tyrese Maxey.
