The Carolina Hurricanes refused to let the Stanley Cup Final slip away Tuesday night, defeating the Vegas Golden Knights 5-3 in Game 4 to even the series at two games apiece. The win shifts momentum back to Carolina as the teams head to Raleigh for a pivotal Game 5.

Veteran captain Jordan Staal turned back the clock with a dominant performance, scoring two goals, including the eventual game-winner in the third period. Staal's hot streak continued as he found the back of the net for the fourth consecutive Stanley Cup Final game, putting himself in rare company in NHL history.

Carolina received contributions throughout the lineup. Nikolaj Ehlers recorded a goal and two assists, while Jackson Blake added a goal and an assist. Logan Stankoven also scored as the Hurricanes' balanced attack proved too much for Vegas to handle.

One of the biggest storylines entering the game was Carolina's decision to start rookie goaltender Brandon Bussi in place of Frederik Andersen. Bussi responded with a steady 18-save performance in his first career playoff start, helping the Hurricanes withstand several Vegas pushes throughout the night.

The Golden Knights received goals from William Karlsson, Brett Howden, and Mark Stone, but could not overcome Carolina's third-period surge. Vegas entered the night holding a 2-1 series lead after its dramatic double-overtime victory in Game 3, but the Hurricanes answered with one of their most complete performances of the postseason.

With the series now tied 2-2, the Stanley Cup Final has become a best-of-three. Game 5 on Thursday promises to be the biggest game of the season as both teams battle for a crucial edge in the chase for hockey's ultimate prize.
