Spurs Keep Champagnie

The San Antonio Spurs are keeping one of their breakout contributors in the fold, agreeing to a new three-year, $45 million contract with forward Julian Champagnie.

Champagnie averaged career highs of 11.1 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists while appearing in all 82 regular-season games. He also shot 38.1% from three-point range and set a Spurs franchise record with 195 made three-pointers during the regular season.

He continued his strong play in the postseason, helping San Antonio reach the NBA Finals. After going undrafted in 2022 and being waived by the Philadelphia 76ers, Champagnie found a home in San Antonio, developing into one of the NBA's top role players.

With Victor Wembanyama, De'Aaron Fox and Stephon Castle leading the franchise's young core, retaining Champagnie was one of the Spurs' top priorities entering free agency.
