The Sacramento Kings have officially revealed their new Classic Edition jerseys for the upcoming 2024-25 NBA season, paying homage to their 40-year legacy in California. The retro-inspired design brings back the beloved purple uniforms, originally worn between 2002 and 2008, a period marked by significant success for the franchise.

The Sacramento Kings' Classic Edition jersey for the upcoming NBA season pays tribute to their road uniforms from 2002 to 2008.
During this memorable era, the Kings secured four playoff appearances and achieved three 50-win seasons, making it one of the most accomplished stretches in team history. The standout feature of the revived jersey is the bold "Sacramento" text across the chest, which made its debut back in 2002. Additionally, the secondary "SK" logo, first introduced in 1994, reappears on the right side of the shorts—a nod to the 2002 design.
The unveiling took place on September 16, affectionately known as "916 Day" in honor of Sacramento’s area code. Former Kings stars Doug Christie, who now serves as an assistant coach under Mike Brown, and Mike Bibby participated in the event. In a fun social media video, Christie and Bibby recreated a mock photoshoot and played basketball while sporting the Classic Edition uniforms, bringing a nostalgic vibe to the occasion.
According to the Kings’ official press release, "This 2024-25 Classic Edition is more than just a jersey -- it's a tribute to our city and the game we love. It represents our proud history and the unforgettable moments shared on the court."
Fans can expect to see the Kings don their Classic Edition jerseys during eight home games next season, with the first appearance set for November 24 against the Brooklyn Nets.
