Grizzlies management finalized the agreement on Tuesday in collaboration with Pippen’s agents, Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul, and agent Shy Saee.

Pippen, 23, stood out during the NBA Summer League for Memphis and has continued to impress during the preseason. Over four preseason games, he averaged 10.3 points and 4.5 assists while playing 20.5 minutes per game, showcasing his potential to contribute at the NBA level.

This new contract secures Pippen as the primary backup to the Grizzlies' star point guard, Ja Morant. Pippen, the son of NBA Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen, went undrafted in 2022 after playing at Vanderbilt. He initially signed a two-way contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, where he played in six games during his rookie season.

The Grizzlies signed Pippen to a two-way deal in January, and in his 21 appearances with Memphis, he averaged close to 13 points and 4.7 assists. Now, with Pippen locked into a full NBA contract, the Grizzlies still have one open roster spot available heading into the season.
