Warriors Re-Sign Porzingis

The Golden State Warriors have secured one of their top offseason priorities, agreeing to a two-year, $40 million contract with veteran center Kristaps Porzingis.

According to ESPN's Shams Charania, the deal includes a player option for the 2027-28 season, keeping the 7-foot-2 big man in the Bay Area after he was acquired by Golden State at the trade deadline.

The 30-year-old has battled injuries throughout his career, including a recent diagnosis of Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), a condition that affected his stamina and availability last season.

When healthy, however, Porzingis remains one of the NBA's most unique frontcourt players, capable of protecting the rim while stretching defenses with his three-point shooting.

The signing also signals that Golden State is committed to maintaining its veteran core while continuing to explore additional moves in free agency. With Porzingis back under contract, the Warriors can now turn their attention to adding complementary pieces as they prepare for the 2026-27 season.
