The blockbuster trade sending Kawhi Leonard from the Los Angeles Clippers back to the Toronto Raptors has been put on hold while the NBA completes its investigation into the Clippers.

The Raptors announced Thursday that the deal will not become official until the league finishes its probe into allegations that the Clippers may have violated salary cap rules.
The NBA's investigation centers on claims that Leonard received a lucrative endorsement agreement through the now-bankrupt company Aspiration, which allegedly served as a way to provide additional compensation outside league salary cap rules.
The Clippers have denied any wrongdoing and said they have fully cooperated with the investigation.
The trade, which was agreed to on June 30, would send Leonard back to Toronto in exchange for Brandon Ingram as part of a blockbuster deal. Both teams remain hopeful the trade will be finalized once the NBA reaches its decision.
