The Carolina Hurricanes are now just one win away from capturing the Stanley Cup after defeating the Vegas Golden Knights 4-2 in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final on Thursday night. With the victory, Carolina takes a 3-2 series lead and heads to Las Vegas with a chance to clinch hockey's biggest prize in Game 6.

Carolina's captain, Jordan Staal, continued his remarkable postseason run by scoring in his fifth consecutive Stanley Cup Final game. Staal's goal helped spark a Hurricanes offense that once again proved difficult for Vegas to contain. Andrei Svechnikov added two power-play goals, while Sebastian Aho also found the back of the net as Carolina rattled off four unanswered goals after falling behind early.
The loss puts the Golden Knights in a difficult position as they now face elimination. Vegas also suffered a setback when forward William Karlsson left the game with an injury. Despite the challenge ahead, the Golden Knights remain confident they can force a Game 7 back in Raleigh.
