Falcons Sign A.J Terrell With Four-Year, $81 Million Contract Extension

The Atlanta Falcons have solidified their defense by keeping one of their key players, A.J. Terrell, with him signing a lucrative four-year contract extension. His deal, worth over $81 million, includes $65 million guaranteed, making it one of the biggest contracts awarded to an NFL cornerback on a four-year deal.

According to ESPN, The agreement was negotiated by Terrell's agent David Mulugheta and Trevon Smith of Athletes First, which makes him the second-highest paid cornerback in the NFL. His new deal, which also averages $20.25 million per year, is only surpassed by Jaire Alexander from the Green Bay Packers, who earns $21 million yearly.

His extension deal comes just before the Falcons acquired two other Pro Bowl players. The Atlanta Falcons have been committed to building a strong roster for the upcoming season. A.J. Terrell, who plays a big part in the Falcons' defense, has consistently proven himself to be one of the league's top defensive backs, making this contract one that's well deserved.
