The new deal, confirmed Tuesday, includes a player option for the 2030-31 season and a full trade kicker, ensuring Mitchell remains the centerpiece of Cleveland's championship aspirations for years to come.

The extension replaces the final year of his previous contract and represents the second long-term commitment between Mitchell and the Cavaliers since the team acquired him from the Utah Jazz in 2022.

Mitchell, 29, is coming off another stellar campaign in which he averaged 27.9 points, 5.7 assists and 4.5 rebounds across 70 games. He earned his seventh consecutive NBA All-Star selection and continued to establish himself as one of the league's premier guards.

With their franchise player now locked in through at least the 2029-30 season, the Cavaliers can turn their attention toward strengthening the roster as they chase the organization's first NBA title since 2016.
