The Boston Celtics are committing to their future in the frontcourt, exercising center Neemias Queta's team option for the 2026-27 season before signing him to a fully guaranteed four-year, $56 million contract extension.

Queta earned the new deal after a breakout 2025-26 season in which he emerged as Boston's starting center. The 7-footer averaged 10.2 points, 8.4 rebounds and 1.3 blocks while shooting 65.3% from the field across 76 games, finishing fourth in NBA Most Improved Player voting.
The extension gives the Celtics long-term stability at center as the franchise continues building around its young core. At just 26 years old, Queta is expected to play a significant role in Boston's plans for years to come.
