The New York Knicks are expected to have their franchise star back well before the start of next season after guard Jalen Brunson underwent surgery on his left wrist Tuesday.

The surgery is viewed as a preventative offseason procedure rather than a long-term concern, allowing Brunson to fully recover after helping lead the Knicks to their first NBA championship in decades.
With several months remaining before the 2026-27 NBA season begins, the Knicks are optimistic Brunson will make a full recovery and be ready to lead their title defense.
Barring any setbacks during rehabilitation, New York expects Brunson to return to the court later this summer before gearing up for another championship chase.
